ITEOTWAWKI was the first REM song I ever heard -watching the music video on Countdown 28 years ago and thinking WOW! It's now the ringtone for my phone.
You are the everything was the next amazing song for me especially live during their Green tour, followed closely by Find the River and Nightswimming from AFTP. I worked backwards through the catalogue to Murmur and realised these guys were truly an amazing phenomena. Even post Berry albums truly brilliant, a special favourite being Reveal.
Thanks for writing the soundtrack to my life REM; you are the everything!

This song makes me happy no matter how depressed I am. It always works.
If the song alone doesn't help i try to sing the lyrics as quick as Michael and that makes me laugh cause I only make it through the first verse and chorus ;)
Thanks guys for such a brilliant good-mood-making-song

Dear R.E.M.,
I have discovered you very late (Reveal’s era), but my biggest regret in having lost the first two decades of your wonderful career is especially due to not having seen you live before. It’s hard to explain (especially with my poor English) how your songs have brought the light into my life, but nothing has ever managed to make me feel better than this magical combination between the music of Mike, Peter (and Bill) and Michael’s sensual and hot voice.
